Do computer swivel chairs suck in air to go up and down or use a bottle of compressed air to go up a
I am uncertain if a computer chair can ever "run out of air" if it is over used. I have heard some people say that it sucks air in as it goes up and then lets it out as it goes down in which case it would never run out of air or does it use a bottle of compressed air in which case it would run out of air.

no the chair cannot run out of air. There is no can of air in the seat. however the seals that hold the air in the cylinder could go bad.
There is a spring loaded piston inside an enclosed cylinder with a valve to let out air and let air into the cylinder. The piston has a shaft that slides in and out of the cylinder to make the assembly longer and shorter. When the valve is opened the spring pushes the piston and shaft out and draws air into the cylinder making the assembly longer. If weight is applied to the end of the shaft and the valve is opened it lets air out of the cylinder, compresses the spring and allows the shaft to slide into the cylinder all at the same time.
